Many songwriters are concerned about writing hit songs. There’s nothing wrong with that.
I’d like to write hits myself, but I have a more important goal in mind.
To be impactful: to write music that touches a listener in a deeper way, than just merely entertaining them.
I am interested in that, because that’s what music means to me. It’s so much more than an entertainment, so much more profound than just hooks and catchy choruses.
But how do you write Impactful songs?
Well, I can’t know what is impactful for you. Music is a wildly individualistic and subjective art.
But that being said, I can tell you what is impactful to me. And I make music that works for me, and then simply share them with those whose tastes are similar to mine. Really, that’s all I can do.
So here at Impactful Songwriter [.com], I’d like to share with you the lessons I’ve learned about writing impactful songs. It may turn out to be nothing but a personal rant about what makes music good to my ears.
But my hope is that there are best practices, and that there are more universal insights contained within my own lessons.
May they help you become a better songwriter in your eyes.
